The 2013 Pinot Noir Rapley Trail Vineyard James Thomas’s Block comes from the middle of the slope where there’s larger, broken rocks and slightly more vigorous vines. It normally ripens five days after the Henry’s block. Classic in style with lots of black raspberry, rose petal, Asian spice and a hint of violet, it’s medium-bodied, elegant and seamless, with a pretty, perfumed style. Aged 19 months in 50% new French oak, it will have a decade of longevity as well.

Dark red cherry, plum and expressive notes open up in the 2013 Pinot Noir Rapley Trail Vineyard James Thomas Block (formerly M Block), followed by citrus and floral notes that add brightness. Sensual and layered to the core, this impeccable balanced Pinot offers tons of textural finesse to match its open-knit personality. The flavors are bold and pungent throughout. The soft, polished finish only adds to the wine's considerable appeal. This parcel just above Henry Ayrton's block on Rapley Trail, is planted with the Martini clone, which always yields eccentric Pinots, on AxR1 rootstock.
