Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

The 2017 Pinot Noir Razorback Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1986. Pale ruby colored, it gives up pretty scents of marionberries, black and red cherries, lavender, garrigue and dust with notions of tobacco and blood orange. The palate is light to medium-bodied, perfumed, firm and pleasantly chalky with great freshness to lift the long, floral and bitters-tinged finish.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Razorback Vineyard is tart, lean and lacking in fruit. It's hard to see the 2017 ever being fully in balance. Here, too, the wine just feels not fully formed, probably because the fruit was not fully ripe.
