2014 K Vintners Vintners Roma River Rock Vintners Vineyard

(the Syrah is fermented with whole clusters, the Cabernet Sauvignon with whole berries, both in upright foudres ; bottled in August of 2016): Bright ruby-red. Wonderfully polished nose offers sexy oak-spicy lift to the aromas of redcurrant, sweet cream and dried rose. Then quite tight and imploded in the mouth, showing less fat and more minerality than the nose would suggest. The Cabernet is really dominating today. Firm tannins and harmonious ripe acidity are accentuated by an almost citrussy verve on the long back end. In a rather feminine style but in need of a couple years of cellaring.
