Score 92/100 · Drink 2023-2029, Eric Guido, Vinous, Aug 2023

The 2020 Blend K Charlotte is dusty and floral with peppery rose and autumnal spice. It's soft and round with a pretty inner sweetness and silken textures ushering in its ripe red and blue fruits. This leaves a lingering tension while finishing with medium length and a slight bitter tinge. The Charlotte is a co-fermented blend of 50% Mourvèdre, 24% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 8% Counoise, 4% Grenache Blanc, 3% Picpoul and 1% Cinsaut.

A Châteauneuf du Pape look-alike, the 2020 Charlotte offers a terrific array of red fruits (strawberries, cherries) as well as some spicy, sagebrush, rose, and floral nuances that develop with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, round, seamless, and perfectly balanced, it’s another incredibly elegant, impressive 2020 from this team that has loads of character. The blend is 50% Mourvedre, 24% Grenache, and the rest Syrah, Counoise, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, and Cinsault, raised in neutral oak.

Score 89/100 · Drink 2023-2028, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, May 2023

Made from 50% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 8% Counoise, 3% Grenache Blanc, 3% Picpoul and 1% Cinsault, the 2020 Charlotte begins with smoky essences and a red-fruited nose of potpourri and iodine with sweet pink peppercorn, dusty red florals and bacon brûlée. Medium to full-bodied, the wine compresses on the palate and shows a narrowing expression, most likely marked by the vintage, before tunneling to a mineral expression that firms up with growing tannins that become tighter on the finish, losing complexity along the way. Made from whole cluster grapes, the wine rested on the lees for 26 months in all neutral French oak. Just under 5,000 bottles produced.
