Score 95/100 · Drink 2016-2041, Robert Parker, Oct 2016

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Trail (100% from clone 337 of Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels) was fabulous last year, and retasting this 200-case cuvée, it offers up gorgeous graphite and almost ridiculous levels of blackberry and crème de cassis fruit. It is layered and opulent, with a voluptuous texture, huge extract, but not a bit of weight or cloying characteristics. The wood is well-integrated, the tannins present but assimilated, and the finish lush, heady, and a good 50-55 seconds. It should drink well for 20-25 years.
