Tasting notes
Displaying a slightly hazy hue of pale gold, the 2019 Viognier Foothills in the Sun offers up aromas of candied peach, hints of pineapple and baked pears with a floral backbone that entices the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has a touch more weight and alcohol than its sister in the same range yet offers up a bit more spice with elements of white peppercorn and a rocky essence. The Viognier concludes with a soft phenolic grip and flavors of peach blossom and fresh yellow apple skin on the long finish. The wine rested for 12 months in 30% new barrels. Only 552 bottles were filled.

Clean citrus, honeyed minerality, flowers, and tangerine oil notes all emerge from the 2019 Viognier Foothills In The Sun, a viscous, medium to full-bodied, classy Viognier all the way. It’s impeccably made and will stand up to any number of impressive Condrieu.
