Score 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
(mostly from Herrenweg fruit, but the yield here was 28 hectoliters per hectare, compared to 49 for the basic Herrenweg bottling; 14.9% alcohol with 26 grams of sugar) Full yellow-gold color. Aromas of apricot, quince, honey, straw and earth. Fat and loaded with fruit, if a bit aggressive with alcohol. Very long, powerful pinot gris, with strong soil tones on the aftertaste.
