The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard is deep garnet-purple colored and comes sashaying out of the glass with beautiful kirsch, blueberry compote, warm cassis and fresh plums notions plus suggestions of rose hip tea, tilled soil, yeast extract and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied, the palate has impressive grace with a quiet intensity of black fruits and earthy sparks, supported by firm, grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing on a persistent mineral note. 434 cases were made.

Classic, with notes of earthy black fruits, smoked herbs, chocolate, and earth, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard is medium to full-bodied, has a rounded, supple texture, yet displays solid mid-palate, depth, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Aged 20 months in 44% new French oak, it’s another terrific 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon that will keep for 10-15 years, probably longer.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard is another powerful wine in this range. Next to some of the other Cabernets, the Bear Point is much more reticent and inward. Layers of blue/purplish berry fruit, spice, gravel and savory herbs are present, but the wine remains compact and not fully expressive, though there is plenty of richness lurking in the background. I wouldn't touch a bottle for at least a few years.
