Tasting notes
A new site for this estate that's located just beside Clos Pepe, in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2014 Pinot Noir Kessler Haak Vineyard saw 50% stems and 20% new oak. It offers lots of bright, high toned fruit, pepper and smoky aromatics to go with a fresh, tight, yet seamless style on the palate. It really stretches out on the finish and is a classy Pinot Noir. Drink it anytime over the coming 7-8 years.

Here in its first vintage, the 2014 Pinot Noir Kessler Haak Vineyard offers a beguiling combination of intense aromatics, dark fruit and notable depth. Lavender, rose petal, mint, exotic spices and orange peel are some of the signatures. The inclusion of 50% whole clusters works beautifully here. The 2014 offers remarkable intensity and yet remains translucent, with no excess weight. This is pure class, not to mention a superb debut.
