Score 88/100 · Drink 2013-2017, Robert Parker, Nov 2013

I was not that keen on this wine early in life, and it still appears to be a more narrowly constructed Brewer-Clifton offering than usual. Amber is noticeable at the edge as well as notes of damp earth, forest floor, figs, roasted meats, black currants and cherries. Medium-bodied with tart acids and 14.9% natural alcohol, this fully mature Pinot Noir is unlikely to improve, so drink it up over the next 3-4 years.

Medium red. Spicy aromas of cherry, raspberry, rose petal, herbs and baking spices, with a suggestion of stems that adds to the wine's complexity. Sweet and silky, with firm acids giving shape to the cherry and spicy flavors. Juicy, firmly tannic wine, finishing with a slight dry edge and good grip. Nuanced and intriguing pinot. The crop level here was about three tons from two acres.
