Tasting notes
Here's an interesting wine from Armilla. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a darkly saturated color and richly intense perfumes of dark berry, dried cherry and spice. The mouthfeel is thickly textured and robust. Yet, the wine also offers a refreshing point of acidity that ultimately gives it a more buoyant and approachable personality. This is a great wine to pair with hearty winter foods by the fireplace.

Tasted blind. Mid ruby with bright orange rim. A little stalky and balsamic on the nose. Juicy fruit that is a tiny bit candied – from the oak it seems. A little rich but not unpleasant, and ready now. (WS)
Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Brooding yet cool raspberry nose. Sweet raspberry fruit palate that is very light and gentle. A little racy on the finish and with stalky tannins sticking out. (WS)
