Score 87/100 · Drink 2017-2022, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The Scarpa 2013 Barbaresco Tettineive is not a completely linear wine. It veers off course in several places, most especially the bouquet. There is a salty note of anchovy paste that is unexpected for sure, but also comfortably balanced by brighter aromas of wild berry and blue flower. The finish is slightly raw and rough and you feel the sudden sharpness of the unripe tannins.
