2010 Viader Blend Limited Edition

(40% cabernet sauvignon, 29% syrah, 26% cabernet franc and 5% malbec): Good medium red. Reticent but complex nose offers blackberry jam, nutty oak and menthol, with whiffs of grilled bacon and violet. Darker in fruit character than the 2009 version but with a bit less punch and thickness. Still, this juicy, serious wine shows good minerality and firm tannic spine. A bit youthfully disjointed today: I look forward to tasting the wine in its finished form.
