I loved the 2019 Pinot Noir Chappellet Grower Collection Dutton Ranch, which comes from a notable site in the Russian River Valley and was raised in 45% new French oak. Ample black cherries, redcurrants, toasted spices, underbrush, and orange tea notes all emerge from the glass, and it has nicely integrated oak, medium body, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. This is another terrific Pinot Noir from this estate that brings classic California fruit yet in a balanced, elegant, classically built package.

Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2019 Pinot Noir Dutton Ranch is a beautiful wine, with layered aromas of citrus, red berries, dusty earth, licorice and potpourri, revealing more nuance with time in the glass. The palate is grainy and fresh with intense fruit balanced by loads of savory, earthy layers, and it finishes very long and seamless. This gorgeous wine deserves another 2-3 years in bottle. 1,700 cases produced.
