2007 Krupp Brothers The Doctor Red

Bright medium ruby. Blueberry, blackberry, black cherry and licorice on the nose; liqueur-like in a syrah way--but there's no syrah in this blend of tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec. Sweet and fine-grained but inexpressive, with a pliant texture hardened a bit by some spiky acidity on the back. Finishes with attractive violet lift, but the wine's acids and tannins are currently in opposition.
