Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2035, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

Beginning with the identity of Red Mountain minerality, the 2016 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is made from a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. The nose opens with a clean core of red and dusty black fruit, with notes of dusty plum, cassis and worn leather. In the mouth, the wine shows off seductive oak tones, while the fruit moves to a tarter feeling, finishing tight with grippy minerality and slightly tannic at the moment. It will do better with some bottle age. This is rather identifiable Red Mountain fruit of good quality. Only 370 cases made.

A rich array of ripe dark plums and berries are framed in some earth and spiced oak complexity. The palate has a very plush, convincingly even and flavorful style with fine, long and regal tannins. A blend of 90% cabernet sauvignon, 7% merlot and 4% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

Lastly, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain from one of the warmer terroirs in Washington checks in as 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc that spent 21 months in 90% new French oak. Its deep ruby/plum color is followed by a rocking bouquet of red and black currants, cedar, dried soil, and assorted spices. It's deep, rich, beautifully textured, and powerful, with both fruit and structure. The tannins develop more bite with time in the glass. This beauty will benefit from 3-4 years or cellaring and cruise for two decades.
