Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Good deep fresh red. Floral, tangy aromas of raspberry, marzipan and oak char. Supple, intense flavors of cherry and marzipan are quite fresh and vinous for the vintage. Offers lovely inner mouth perfume along with a strong component of oak spice. Finishes brisk, with a note of nut skin and substantial wood tannins. This is the only 1994 Barolo to rate three glasses in Gambero Rosso's 1999 Guide to Italian wine.
