Bright red. Initially gamey and reduced, but revealed higher-pitched spice and floral notes with air. Intense and chewy but tight and taut, showing excellent tension but a faint dry edge to its red berry and spice flavors. Today Laurent's village Gevrey is a lot more fun to taste. The dusty tannins here call for at least four or five years of bottle aging.
