The 2015 Pinot Noir Mt Caramel from Sandhi displays pretty aromas of red berries, crushed rock, dried herbs and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, tensile and mineral, with a deep core of bright fruit. This has the structure to improve with several years in the bottle and drink well for the following decade.

The 2015 Pinot Noir Mt. Carmel Old Vines is the most compelling of the three single-vineyard Pinots I tasted from Sandhi. The flavors are bright, fresh and delineated, almost unusually so for this rugged hillside site. Blood orange, chalk and dried rose add aromatic nuance throughout. This is very nicely done.
