Bordeaux-like notes of ripe cherries, tobacco, and leather emerge from the 2019 Range 30 West, a blend of 62% Cabernet Franc and 38% Merlot. This charming, elegant, medium-bodied Bordeaux blend has silky tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming decade or so. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.

The 2019 Range 30 West, the Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend in this range, offers up copious black cherry, dried herbs, tobacco and leather. There's good depth, but also a bit of stress from the heat.
