Tasting notes
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Ranch from Howell Mountain is another beauty, somewhat restrained, but exhibiting luscious fruit such as blackcurrants and black cherries along with some plum, tapenade, new saddle leather and a touch of garrigue smell. It should drink well for 10-15 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Vineyard is wonderfully complex and nuanced, especially in its sumptuous, racy texture but it also has terrific balance. Seamless, powerful and inviting, but with plenty of supporting structure, the 2014 oozes finesse. The tannins are there, but they are pretty much buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. This is a strong showing from Beringer and one of their historic ranches.
