Tasting notes
The 2016 Promis checks in as a blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese that spent a year in oak. Loads of ripe black cherries, earth, tobacco, and leather notes all give way to a medium to full-bodied red that has ripe tannins, notable elegance, and a charming, upfront, ready-to-go style.

There is a lovely delicateness and softness to the 2016 Promis. The IGT appellation used here reflects fruit (a blend of Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese) sourced from Bibbona. The Promis has always seen Merlot in a leading role. This is a full and complete wine with nice roundness and bright freshness on the close. It is the most immediate and food friendly of these offerings from Ca'Marcanda.
Aromas of dark berries, licorice and sandalwood following through to medium to full body with firm tannins. A juicy and delicious finish. Drink in 2019.
The 2016 Promis is fresh, floral and inviting. Bright raspberry and floral notes, along with mid-weight structure, make the 2016 an ideal wine for drinking now and over the next few years. This is an especially refined, gracious Maremma red.
