Tasting notes
Medium red. Aromatic scents of strawberry, raspberry and flowers accented by white pepper. A juicy, lightly peppery midweight with a penetrating peppery--even slightly herbal--quality to its red berry flavors. Not particularly complex but alive in the mouth and very Old World in its dry style. This is more about perfume than body--not a bad thing for a Washington wine. In fact, I never would have guessed that this rather bracing wine was carrying 15% alcohol. Gives an impression of brisk acidity on the slightly tart, edgy finish but does not go dry or hard. The peppery herbs are joined on the back end by a note of fruity fresh olive. How many all-Mourvèdre wines can there be like this one in Washington? (15% alcohol; entirely destemmed)
