2016 Monchiero Carbone Roero Arneis DOCG Riserva Vigna Renesio

The Monchiero Carbone 2016 Roero Arneis Riserva Vigna Renesio is packaged in a very handsome bottle with a whimsical turquoise-colored capsule. Spicy notes emerge first, followed by flashes of flinty smoke and toast. At the back, the wine shows tropical and orchard fruit, but the intensity of those fruit tones is kept relatively mild. The aromas creep up on you slowly as the wine warms in the glass and finds its footing. I tasted bottle 845 of 1,924 made.
