Tasting notes
Slightly more expensive, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Pritchard Ridge vineyard on Atlas Peak and saw 21 months in new French oak. It’s another wonderfully textured, balanced, medium to full-bodied beauty offering classy notes of darker currants, cassis, tobacco, damp earth, and even a hint of iron. It brings gorgeous California fruit without any sense of heaviness or being over the top. It’s beautifully made and will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and cruise for 15-20 years.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve slowly unfurls to reveal notions of plum preserves, crème de cassis, Black Forest cake and pencil shavings, plus suggestions of tilled earth and truffles. The full-on full-bodied palate (15.3% alcohol) has a solid structure of firm, grainy tannins with a lively backbone, finishing on a lingering fragrant earth note. Give it another year or so in bottle and then drink it over the next 20 years+.
