Tasting notes
Like the corresponding Clisson, this was terrific from tank and has thus far fared impressively in bottle. There is the same sense of shimmering interaction between crystalline stony impingements and tangy, piquantly seed- and skin-inflected fresh pear and lime that was displayed in its youth, and an enhanced impression of nut oils enhances a rich palate presence that seems to defy the wine’s vivacity and cut (or vice versa). Smoky and mouthwateringly saline as well as stony residues cling after this beauty’s vibratory finish has finished resounding.

The 2010 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Château-Thébaud Clos des Morines has a clear and concentrated, lovely aromatic, refined and slightly flinty bouquet of ripe apples. Full-bodied, creamy and elegant on the palate, with remarkable finesse and purity, this is a very persistent and well-balanced Muscadet cru with a firm structure and good length.
The 2010 Muscadet Sevre et Maine Chateau-Thebaud Clos des Morines is a mouthful of succulent and mineral structured Muscadet with deep and nutty flavors and a complex taste and length. Full-bodied, powerful and well balanced it develops an enormous minerality on the palate that is knocking on Burgundy’s (Chablis!) door.
