Tasting notes
(14.7% alcohol; 35% new oak): Bright ruby-red. Expressive aromas of cassis, blueberry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate, plus hints of cinnamon and tobacco leaf. At once pliant and energetic in the mouth, with blueberry and sweet juicy plum flavors lifted by spices and flowers. Finishes with late-arriving serious tannins that allow the fruit to expand and express itself. A nicely made midweight with texture and aromatic lift. The pH here is 3.73, following very light acidification.
