Dark red with ruby tones. Perfumed aromas of cassis, dark plum, black tea, licorice, violet and bitter chocolate are nicely high-pitched for such a hot year. Concentrated and dark in character, with alluring flavors of blackberry, licorice and black pepper supported by a serious tannic spine. This youthfully tight wine finishes with lingering notes of fruity Venezuelan bitter chocolate and peppercorn. Impressive Merlot, and deeper than the 2014 version. ((14.7% alcohol)

The 2015 Merlot is ripe, dark-fruited and generous, cutting a broad swathe across the palate. Full-bodied and open-knit, it's an uncomplicated effort adapted to near-term consumption.
