Healthy bright, dark red. Pure, varietally expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, mint and bitter chocolate. Then juicy and tightly wound, showing a distinctly leafy quality to its dark berry fruit. No rough edges in the middle palate but the rather clipped finish betrays a tart quality. Will this round out in bottle?

Made from 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a saturated, inky purple color as well as classic notes of cassis, violets, jam-covered toast and hints of herbs. Medium-bodied, pure, polished and elegant, it will have 15 years or more of longevity.
