Tasting notes
The 2013 Pinot Noir Rancho Ontiveros Vineyards is bold and powerful. Game, smoke and tobacco add lovely aromatic complexity to a core of dark-fleshed stone fruit character. A pliant and open-knit Pinot, the 2013 will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 100% whole clusters serve to balance the wine's dense fruit and racy personality.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Rancho Ontiveros from Native9 is powerful and deep, yet also retains plenty of nuance. Dark red cherry, plum, menthol and leather open up in this expressive, mid-weight Pinot. The 2013 is perhaps lacking just a touch of freshness. Otherwise, it is a solid Pinot to drink now and over the next few years. The 2013 was done with 100% whole clusters and aged in 30% new barrels.
