Dark red. Pungent red berry and cherry scents are complicated by musky underbrush, tobacco and fresh flowers. Suave, silky cherry and fresh plum flavors are gently firmed by supple tannins, with refreshing minerality adding lift. Gains sweetness on the finish, leaving behind an impression of bitter cherry and succulent herbs. I suspect that this will age nicely but there's intriguing complexity already.

Smoky, cherry, damp earth, fresh mushroom, meaty, black fruit scents provide an attractive first impression for this ripe, medium-bodied, excellent Pinot Noir. It is a dark ruby-hued, well-made 2005 to enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tel. and Fax (805) 937-1991
