The 2014 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Nanbartons 1er Cru has a better nose than I expected (given some of the more questionable bottles at previous Domaines). Despite a small reduction, there are pleasant red cherry, marmalade and mulch-like scents on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, balanced and lightly spiced with a hint of curry leaf towards the finish. I'm not sure how much longer I would keep this in bottle, but this classically styled Savigny is drinking well now.
