Tasting notes
The medium-bodied, supple, and nicely textured 2016 Crozes Hermitage gives up classic notes of peppery spice and earth red and black fruits. It's charming, nicely balanced, and satisfying.

Bright violet. Lively dark fruit and floral pastille scents are complemented by suggestions of allspice, olive and smoky minerality. Shows very good clarity and depth on the palate, offering energetic blackberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that become sweeter with aeration. Finishes with gentle tannic grip and very good persistence, leaving a subtle candied violet note behind.
A classic drink-me-now Syrah, the 2016 Crozes Hermitage Le Domaine features ripe cherries and spicy herb notes, a mid-weight, creamy-textured palate and supple, easygoing finish. It should drink well on release.
Pithy and furry on the palate, with an orange-skin element that suggests slight maceration. Sweetly spiced finish. Interesting if not exactly conventional flavour range. (RH)
