(15.2% alcohol, 3.58 pH): Bright medium ruby. Reticent nose hints at black raspberry, dark chocolate, mocha and sexy spices, plus a suggestion of washed cheese rind. Fat, dense, sweet and full, with primary dark fruits dominating a light gamey quality. Not quite as lively as the Lady Rasa--in fact this is a bit aggressive--but the slightly dusty tannins are supported by lush fruit. Vintage 2010 favored syrah and other early ripening varieties, noted David O'Reilly.
