Score 93/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Robert Parker, Jun 2015
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Laureate Napa Valley is a beauty and a sleeper of the vintage. There were 773 cases produced of this wine, which exhibits a nearly opaque, ruby/purple color and a beautiful nose of blackberry, cassis, graphite and subtle earthiness. It is full-bodied, fresh, beautifully textured and opulent, with no hard edges. The tannins and acidity are present, but beautifully integrated, as is any oak. Especially impressive are the rich mid-palate and long, pure, gorgeously refined and textured finish. This is a winner that can be drunk now, or cellared for at least another decade or more.
