Tasting notes
Medium red. Peppery, youthfully medicinal aromas of redcurrant, cherry and herbs. Juicy and fresh, with moderately fleshy red berry and spice flavors supported by a firm spine of acidity. Finishes with firm tannins and a suggestion of cherry skin. I'd bet on this unwinding with another couple years in the bottle.

The full-bodied, Burgundian-styled 2007 Pinot Noir Rancho Santa Rosa reveals an intriguing bouquet of salty sea breezes intermixed with black cherries, graphite, and smoky game. Tart acids push this wine toward a leaner, more restrained style, but its weight, richness, and texture are impressive. It will benefit from another year or two of bottle age, and should age easily for a decade. Tel. (805) 688-1278; Fax (805) 686-1508
