The 2012 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard was really the only submission from Broadley that passed muster. Matured in 30% new oak, it has a ripe nose with glossy ripe black cherries and blueberry. The palate is medium-bodied, dense and grippy with a rather labored finish that at least displays sufficient purity.

Vivid ruby-red. Explosive spice- and mineral-tinged cherry and black raspberry scents are complemented by cola, potpourri and woodsmoke. Shows excellent depth and power but comes off as surprisingly lithe, offering intense red and dark berry flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Fine-grained tannins shape the finish, which clings with superb intensity and alluring sweetness.
