Score 95/100 · Drink 2017-2027, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

Another pure, elegant and layered release from Matt Reynvaan, the 2012 The Unnamed Syrah exhibits subtle dark berry fruit, truffle, olive, lavender and smoked meat aromas and flavors in full-bodied, balanced, layered and seamless package. It picks up more classic violet and peppery herb notes with air and fills in beautifully on the mid-palate; nevertheless, it’s the least expressive at the moment aromatically, so give it a few years in the cellar. The blend here is 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache Blanc.
