Tasting notes
I loved the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Blend, which comes from vines near Soda Canyon, just off the Silverado Trail. It has beautiful black and blue fruits, a kiss of minerality, notes of violet, and even an Oakville-like black olive character, as well as medium to full body and a great finish. I wasn't able to get prices for these Ellman releases, but I suspect this will be a smoking value. It's impeccably made and capable of evolving for 10-12 years at a minimum.

The 2021 Proprietary Red Blend Brothers Blend is plump, juicy and inviting. Dark cherry, chocolate, plum, mocha, spice and lavender are nicely dialed up in this plush, super-expressive red blend. Soft, succulent tannins wrap it all together.
The 2021 Brothers Blend Proprietary Red Wine—86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot—is a bit leafy and herbal, with notes of bay and sage joining black cherries on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, it's less concentrated and intense than The Estate bottling but still reasonably tannic and firm, with a dry, astringent finish.
