Opaque ruby-purple, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Colonel's Vineyard has a nose of cassis, tar, grilled meats and earth with touches of cedar and bay leaves. The palate is full-bodied, dense and chewy with an herbal finish. 191 cases produced.

Cut from the same cloth as the Estate Cabernet, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Colonel's Vineyard has more finesse and elegance as well as better tannins. Deep purple-hued with smoky currants, cassis, lead pencil, tobacco, and lots of mineral-like aromas and flavor, this medium to full-bodied Cabernet is nicely balanced, has plenty of structure, and a good finish. It's another wine that's going to benefit from short-term cellaring, but I'm not sure I'd push the aging curve too much either.
