Cut from the same cloth as the Estate Cabernet, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Colonel's Vineyard has more finesse and elegance as well as better tannins. Deep purple-hued with smoky currants, cassis, lead pencil, tobacco, and lots of mineral-like aromas and flavor, this medium to full-bodied Cabernet is nicely balanced, has plenty of structure, and a good finish. It's another wine that's going to benefit from short-term cellaring, but I'm not sure I'd push the aging curve too much either.
