Juicy flavours of graphite, black cherry and cedar are wrapped in a muscular fist of tannins. Excellent acidity and lovely balance, with a cigar-box finish. Tasty. (AY)

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking beautifully and provides an energetic example of this often quite concentrated vintage. It beams from the glass with pipe tobacco, muddled raspberry and charred cedar aromas. Agile and medium-bodied on the palate, the finish is laden with ripe red fruit flavors, refreshing acidity and angular tannins that have begun to soften to continue to propel the finish. A wonderful value.

Lots of Bordeaux-like black herbs, scorched earth, lead pencil, and graphite, as well as ripe black cherry and mulberry fruits, emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, a medium-bodied, fresh, focused, nicely concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon from the Santa Cruz Mountains. It needs a good decant if drinking any time soon, but it’s balanced, pure, and can evolve for 15+ years if stored correctly. It's beautifully done.
