Oven-warmed blackcurrants , ripe, round, rich aromas – chocolatey. Very ripe but there is a plumb line of excellent acidity that pulls elegance through that voluptuousness. Fresh and green grass/peppers on finish. (TC)

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense ruby/purple color, chalky tannins in the finish and hollowness in the mid-palate. I have been enjoying recent efforts from Trefethen, but this didn’t make the grade. It is attractive on the attack, but falls off quickly and ends up a rather compact and monolithic wine.
