Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2031, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2020

The 2018 Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountain Old Vines is airy and gracious in the glass. It is also more aromatic and less overly ripe than that wine. Even so, the two Chehalem Pinots are not markedly different. Cedar, dried herbs and sweet pipe tobacco add lovely shades of nuance throughout. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years, as the tannins are a bit unruly at this stage.
