Score 92/100 · Drink 2017-2020, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Apr 2017

Pale ruby-brick colored, the 2012 Pinot Noir Great Oak Vineyard has matured into a dried mulberries, kirsch and incense scented notes with nuances of dried roses and fallen leaves. The palate is full bodied and has a good core of mature sour cherry and earth flavors on a solid foundation of invigorating acidity and powdery tannins, finishing with some spices coming through. This is gorgeous to drink right now.

Bright ruby. Sexy, oak-spiced aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry, cola and anise. Broad and expansive in the mouth, offering sappy red and dark berry flavors complicated by cola and candied rose. Finishes smooth, sweet and long, with resonating spiciness and slow-building, silky tannins. This wine responds very nicely to aeration, which suggests that a slow aging curve is likely here.
