A gorgeous wine, the 2011 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge Block 20 boasts serious depth in a deceptively understated style supported by bright acidity and a firm spine of tannin. Red cherry, plum, slate and orange peel inform a slightly compact yet highly expressive Pinot. The Block 20 stands out for its core of inner strength. It drinks well with air today, but could also use more time in bottle. There is a lot to like here. The Block 20 will appeal most to readers who like vibrant, pulsating Pinots.
