Score 89/100 · Drink 2006-2014, Robert Parker, Aug 2006
The Pommard-like, stern, austerely-styled, muscular, angular 2004 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe displays abundant amounts of berry fruit intermixed with sweet cherry, earthy, spicy characteristics. While it was the most difficult of these Pinots to evaluate, I liked its style and could have easily confused it with a French premier cru Pommard in a blind tasting. It will benefit from another year or so of bottle age, and should drink well for 7-8 years or longer. Tel. (805) 649-1674
