Pale green-tinged yellow. Aromas of apricot and nutty lees lifted by a limey topnote. Fat and silky on the palate, showing attractive restrained sweetness and bright underlying acidity. Much longer than the Bienvenue, finishing saline, dry and closed, with a serious backbone. But this wine will need at least several years of cellaring.

(malo done and sulfited; from a single new parcel of very old vines on the Chassagne side of the appellation, "but closer to Puligny than our old parcel was," according to Germain): Bright yellow-green. Lovely sappy lift to the pure mineral and stone fruit aromas. Gripping, bright and very intense, with sexy white pepper lift to the sharply delineated flavors of lime blossom, ripe peach, spices and flowers. Really exhilarating wine: tactile, energetic, perfumed and light on its feet. Explodes on the building aftertaste, leaving orange blossom and spicy perfume behind. An exhilarating wine in 2013.
