Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2014

Medium ruby-red. Aromas of currant, blueberry, tobacco. leaf, spicecake and woodsmoke are complicated by musky herbs and a rocky character. Nicely concentrated and ripe for 2011, showing a restrained sweetness and sneaky intensity to the black raspberry and plum flavors. Has enough stuffing to support its serious dusty tannins.
