Score 92/100 · Drink 2010-2016, Robert Parker, Feb 2010

The 2007 Pinot Noir Alder Springs Vineyard offers more of the blueberry and black raspberry side of Pinot intermixed with hints of bay leaf and earth. Elegant, tasty, and medium to full-bodied with good acidity, this beauty should drink well for 4-6 years. For the past twenty years, Patz and Hall has been one of California's finest negociant firms, accessing top quality fruit and vinifying and bottling their wines with minimal intervention. The following efforts represent the finest wines I have tasted from them in many years. Tel. (877) 265-6700

Full red. Briary dark berries, cedar, licorice and brown spices on the nose. Muscular and backward on the palate, showing power but limited sweetness of fruit today. I don't find much pinot tang. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins. An awkward showing.
