Tasting notes
Matured for 16 months in used French oak, the 2021 Pinot Noir MacLean's Block is scented of red cherries, rhubarb, bergamot and mint with youthful touches of cedar and nutmeg. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated and spicy with nuanced, pleasantly botanical flavors. It has a silky frame, seamless freshness and a long, flavorful finish. 170 cases produced.

The 2021 Pinot Noir MacLean's Block pours a ripe ruby color and is more reserved in nature. It’s smoky with delicate spice as well as aromas of charred rosemary, redcurrant, and iron-rich earth. Medium to full-bodied, it offers a more linear approach, with a touch of angularity and a fresh feel to its ripe tannins. With crunchy red cherry fruit, cedar, and a pleasing bit of salinity, I like this a lot for its vibrant energy. Drink 2024-2034.
